Building works are under way

Contractors carrying out the refurbishment work at our award-winning education building, at Priory Park Road, just off Kilburn High Road, NW6 7UJ, continue to make great progress.

Work is continuing on our dedicated kitchen and is scheduled for completion at the end of May. Refurbishment works on our two Reception classrooms will then commence and will be ready for our first intake in September.

Kilburn Grange School is sharing the site in an innovative partnership with Marylebone Boys’ School, for the 2015/16 academic year with a view to having sole use of the site from September 2016. Marylebone Boys’ School’s Year 7 intake moved into the building when the school opened in September 2014 and will continue to utilise the upper floors until their permanent site, scheduled for completion in September 2016, is ready.

As Kilburn Grange School is set to admit two Reception classes and Marylebone Boys’ School will have just two year groups (Years 7 and 8) in September 2015, there is sufficient space for both schools to operate well. The schools will operate separately and all safeguarding considerations have been dealt with by the Education Funding Agency as part of the designs for Kilburn Grange School. Ofsted will also be carrying out a pre-opening check in June.

We will continue to provide regular updates on the building throughout the refurbishment period.
