Claire Delaney, Chair of Bellevue Place Education Trust, joined the Prime Minister and the Secretary of State for Education at a reception at Lancaster House in London to represent Kilburn Grange School and celebrate the success of free schools across the country.
Part of the Bellevue Place Education Trust family of primary schools, our new primary school plans to provide a combination of the best that state and independent education has to offer and will be free to attend.
Kilburn Grange School was one of over 200 schools represented at the event. The first free schools opened just over three years ago in September 2011, yet there are now 360 of these schools open or approved to open, together creating more than 200,000 new school places.
Education Secretary Nicky Morgan said: “I am immensely proud of everything that has been achieved through the free schools programme in a relatively short space of time – because this programme is a vital part of our wider plan for improving education in Brent.
“Thanks to this plan more children in England have the opportunity to go to a good or outstanding school than ever before and free schools have been crucial to that change – with more than two-thirds of free schools meeting this high standard.
“We are giving thousands more parents a choice of high-quality local schools that offer the excellent standard of education that all pupils deserve.”
Claire Delaney added: “Kilburn Grange School will provide a rich learning environment full of arts, drama, sport, music and academic rigour and will teach children to learn, enjoy and succeed in their school career and beyond. We look forward to meeting prospective parents at our upcoming Open Event on Thursday 30th October and sharing further details on our plans.”
Families with children starting school next September are invited to the school’s Open Events which will take place at the proposed school site, the former College of North West London Kilburn campus, Priory Park Road, NW6 7UJ on Thursday 30th October and Thursday 6th November.
