Year 2 observe paintings at the National Gallery

On Tuesday the 11th of February, Year 2 visited the National Gallery to observe artwork from famous British artists. This allowed them to develop their knowledge of their topic this half term ‘We are the United Kingdom’.

They explored the gallery and observed many magnificent paintings. The children then had the opportunity to sketch some of the paintings, with many children choosing ‘Sunflowers’ by Vincent Van Gogh as they had learnt about him in their Art class.

The children had a fantastic day and thank you to the parent helpers who were brilliant.
