Career Day Inspires Big Dreams

We had an exciting and inspiring Career Day last week. The corridors were filled with children dressed as doctors, athletes, pilots, police officers and so much more.

This was our second ever Career Day, designed to broaden pupils’ horizons and spark early conversations about future goals. Throughout the day, children met a range of professionals, including a London Ambulance Service paramedic, two Police Constables from Hounslow Police, an Educational Welfare Officer, a GP, our very own school chef, and a landscape architect who also works as a climate ambassador.

The paramedic and police officers led an engaging assembly, giving pupils a glimpse into the realities of emergency service roles through demonstrations, lively discussions, and even a simulated arrest of Ms Storey! Visitors then moved between classrooms, sharing insights into their daily work, answering questions, and encouraging pupils to think ambitiously about their futures.

Our children asked thoughtful and enthusiastic questions and enjoyed hearing about the different jobs and experiences. Their reflections spoke volumes: A Year 5 pupil shared, “I want to be a doctor because I want to save people… I don’t like seeing people hurting. I want to help people.” A Year 6 pupil added, “When I grow up I want to be a pilot because I love travelling and I want to do that all the time!”

Headteacher Ms Khinich said: “Events like Career Day bring learning to life and encourage our children to think big. By connecting what they do in the classroom with the wider world, our pupils gain confidence, spark their imagination, and begin to understand that their future opportunities are limitless. Our Deputy Headteacher, Miss Storey, put a lot of work into organising this event as we really want to inspire our pupils to reach for the sky”.

It was amazing to see our pupils so engaged, curious, and confident as they explored the many opportunities they can aspire to in the future. A huge thank you to all our visitors for helping make the day so memorable.

We made it to the press with our Career Day, read it on The Kilburn Times.
