Kilburn Grange School Turns Ten!

Today we proudly celebrated a very special milestone – ten years since our school first opened its doors in September 2015!
We began the day with a joyful celebration assembly, where the whole school joined together to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to KGS.
As part of the occasion, we also unveiled our refreshed school values, built around the new acronym ‘KGS’, reflecting who we are and who we aspire to be. Watch this space as children begin to learn about and display our new school values: 'Kindness', 'Grit' and 'Smartness'.
Here is the poem the Headteacher shared with pupils and staff during our special assembly:
Ten Years of Hearts and Minds
Our school turns ten, a joyful sight,
A decade shining warm and bright.
Small in size but full each day
Of learning, laughter, work and play.
We grow young hearts and grow young minds,
Where kindness leads and each child finds
A place to shine, a voice to share—
Expressive communicators learning to care.
We read with passion, we write with pride,
Enthusiastic readers by our side.
We calculate, we problem-solve,
With growing confidence and resolve.
But learning here is so much more
Than books and sums—we love to explore!
Inquisitive explorers far and near,
With trips and visitors all through the year.
We paint, create, and move with glee,
We love our art and our P.E.
Healthy champions, strong and true,
Caring for mind and body too.
Dodgeball is our pride and fight—
We train with courage, strength, and might.
Nationals fourth—what a brilliant day!
We cheered together all the way.
With adults who listen and take the time to care,
Nurture groups and check-ins—someone’s always there
Neo’s wagging tail brings comfort we adore,
Helping our hearts grow stronger than before.
Ambitious achievers, we aim high,
We keep on reaching for the sky.
Developing citizens, standing tall,
Making a difference, one and all.
So, here’s to ten great years gone by,
With hopes and dreams still flying high.
A school of heart, of joy, of growing—
A decade of learning and still glowing.
Children enjoyed a slice of cake to mark the day and spent the afternoon off timetable taking part in a range of fun activities to celebrate our 10 years of learning, friendship and growth.
We rounded off the day with a special sale run by our Friends of KGS, and we can’t wait to see children using our brand-new commemorative water bottles in school.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey so far – here’s to the next ten years!
